This week in AP Human Geography students will be finishing Unit 1 and testing over Unit 1 this Wednesday and Thursday. Students will have the multiple choice section on Wednesday and then the Free Response section on Thursday.

Students this week will be finishing Unit 2. We will be testing over Unit 2 this Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday of this week we will begin our work on Unit 3 which covers Microeconomics. This Unit will take roughly 3 weeks to complete.
This week in AP Human Geography students will be finishing their work on Unit one. We will be discussing the different types of map projections, the different types of regions, as well as the different types of technology that geographers use to better explain phenomena around the earth. I hope to test over Unit 1 after next week, I will post the exact date as we get closer.
This week in Economics students will be learning about the different types of Economic Systems that different countries around the world use. We will be discussing the role that governments play in each of these systems, and we will focus on the role of government in The United States. We will be testing over unit two on Friday 8/24
This week students will continue to work on Unit one content which covers the basics of geography. We will begin to look at the different types of maps that geographers use and students will attempt to create their own maps of the surrounding area. Students will also be receiving a map of the countries of North America. Students will take the quiz over this map on Friday.
Students this week will be finishing up their work on Unit 1. We will be testing over UNit one this Thursday. Also due this Thursday are the definitions for the vocabulary from Unit 1. Following the Unit 1 test we will begin our discussion about the different types of economic systems.
This week students will be going over the syllabus and the expectations for our class. We will be going over different methods of taking notes, as well as, proper preparation strategies for this class. We will begin Chapter 1 which covers the introduction to what human geography is. We will be learning about the different types of maps that exist,how to read different types of maps, and create some maps of our own. Students this week will also be asked to label a graph of The United States, and to begin reading chapter 1 on their own.
This week students will be going over the rules and expectations of the class. We will then be reviewing basic graphing techniques to make sure all students are prepared for the work we will be doing in economics. Finally students will begin working on the concepts of scarcity and the factors of production. Students will be doing several activities to practice these concepts as well as working on defining the vocabulary words for chapter 1.
